Young people have their say about human rights

Team BIHR and our peer facilitators have had a brilliant time in Manchester and London as part of our summer project with young people, Human Rights Here Now (commissioned by the EHRC).  Lots of young people joined us at each day learning about children and young people’s human rights and sharing their experiences. Our mock United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child was a clear favourite with the young people (and the adults!). The young people gave some fantastic presentations about the issues affecting young people in the UK today. We heard about racism, budget cuts, education, stop and search, tuition fees, and the voting age to name a few! There was even an impromptu rap!
