Baroness Hale on 20 years of the Human Rights Act

As part of our campaign to Celebrate 70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), on the 7th of November we will be hosting an evening lecture lead by Baroness Hale, the President of the Supreme Court in the United Kingdom. The event marks the 20th Anniversary of the Human Rights Act (HRA) providing the perfect platform to celebrate the difference human rights make to people here in the UK. We are looking forward to welcoming over 80 guests including BIHR Trustees, representatives from NGO’s, academics, the legal community and various others who continue to support the work that we do to bring human rights to life. The event will be chaired by Sir Nicolas Bratza, former President of the European Court of Human Rights and Chair of our Board of Trustees. Baroness Hale’s lecture will begin at 6.30 pm and be followed by a Q&A and networking reception. We are delighted to be working with law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP on this import…
