BIHR wins award for Community Engagement
BIHR is delighted to announce that we have received a Community Engagement Award at Queen Mary University’s 2018 Community Engagement Awards for our work with Tower Hamlets Recovery College (THRC), part of East London NHS Foundation Trust.
The Community Engagement Awards celebrate Queen Mary University’s connections to its local community and wider society, recognising the partnerships and collaborations in Queen Mary’s research, teaching and wider work which bring benefit to local residents, wider communities, Queen Mary’s academics, researchers and students.
BIHR worked with THRC to co-produce and deliver 2 community open learning sessions on Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Human Rights. These sessions were open to anyone living or working in Tower Hamlets with an interest in mental health, mental capacity and/or human rights, and were created and delivered in partnership with THRC, providing legal expertise alongside people with lived experience.
