Thousands of people joined an opposition rally near the parliament building in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian, who held his own rival rally in Yerevan’s Republic Square where he called on supporters to join him to “defend democracy.”
