Women’s activists in Uganda fighting for change

This #InternationalWomensDay—and every day—it is critical that we empower women leaders—including refugees and women who are living in crisis.

In honor of #IWD, we’re introducing you to inspiring women leaders who belong to a refugee activist group called Togoletta which supports South Sudanese refugees and Ugandan women with their mental health, all while advocating for gender equality.

The IRC’s Listen Up program with @U.S. Department of State provides Togoletta with funding and support, but it’s these refugee women themselves doing the work to change lives. ✊

This #IWD21, share this video to join us in making sure we’re listening *to* women around the world instead of deciding *for* them!

The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.
