- Several clubs in Norway want boycott of tournament in Qatar
- Players had T-shirts saying: ‘Human rights – on and off the pitch’
Norway will not be punished by Fifa for stepping up their protests about human rights violations in Qatar on Wednesday night by lining up for their game against Gibraltar with T-shirts bearing the slogan “Human rights – on and off the pitch”.
“Fifa believes in the freedom of speech, and in the power of football as a force for good,” football’s global governing body said. “No disciplinary proceedings in relation to this matter will be opened by Fifa.”
