A world-renowned Japanese company Toshiba European unit is facing a cyber-attack and the company has blamed the hackers group called Dark Web for this cyber-attack. These hackers recently targeted the US Colonial oil field and received a $5 million in ransom.

Toshiba Tech’s corp., registered in France, said the attack targeted only a small amount of data.

This incident poses a tough challenge to governments and businesses around the world, because these computer-age thieves are gaining control of valuable data and personal information of citizens and institutions and demanding ransom in return and threatening to publish this data  if the demand is not met.

French champagne maker Laurel Pierrez has also faced a cyber-attack this year. A similar attack has been carried out on Ireland’s health system and a ransom has been demanded in return for which Ireland has shut down its IT system since Friday.

U.S. investigators and experts say such attacks are being carried out only on European and American companies, while Russian companies are not the victims. While Russia has denied any involvement in the incidents.
