PETA Sr. VP Dan Mathews talks about paying his respects to George Floyd by recently attending the memorial that took place in Floyd’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Mathews, openly gay, saw it as an opportunity to link arms and show solidarity between all the issues he cares about animal rights, gay rights.and the fight for racial justice.
Mathews also talks about his new book coming out about his mother. The conversation took place before the Supreme Court landmark ruling that declared that LGBTQ people were protected from employment discrimination on the basis of sexuality or gender.
