UK’s undocumented migrants – victims of a cruel immigration system

An estimated 1.2 million people live in the UK with no legal status, struggling to survive under the Hostile Environment. Although arriving in the country legally, the majority of undocumented migrants fell victim to the inflexible and unforgiving immigration system.
In a recent report, Zoe Gardner, a policy advisor for the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, explored the main reasons why people lose their legal status.
