The Americans of Pakistani Heritage Organization (APHO) celebrates the Independence Day of Pakistan and organize Eid Mela at Eisenhower Park. APHO’s Wasim Syed, Zameer Chaudhry and Ali Mirza are the organizers of the event. The celebration began with the Pakistani and American national anthems.
There is almost a month to go for Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day; but the preparation for the celebrations in New York by Pakistani community on full swing and it seem to be celebrated just after some days.
Pakistani community and American officials were also present to celebrate Independence Day in full splendor. US officials also congratulated Pakistani community on the occasion of Independence Day.
Atmosphere of New York echoed with slogans of “Long live Pakistan” The different cultures of Pakistan were also highlighted through dance performances in the event.
The festival also featured concerts. Singers Naeem Abbas Rufi and Mahesh Shah gave their brilliant performances.
The spectators cheered a lot.
Various stalls including barbecue were also set up on the occasion.
At the end of the ceremony, Americans of Pakistani Heritage also awarded the Pakistani community with an award for outstanding services.
