Ep.215: Mushed Once, Never Again: A PETA Activist’s Fight to End the Iditarod

At one point in his life, Jonathan Horn mushed. He tried dogsledding just once, but it let him know firsthand the cruelty of the activity. He saw what it did to his lead dog, Bianca. Horn, now a PETA campaigner, talks about how he uses Bianca’s memory to fight for the end of the grand symbol of dogsledding, the Iditarod. Horn was just coming back from Alaska and on his way to another PETA demonstration when he took some time at an airport to talk with Emil Guillermo about the just-completed 50th Iditarod. It’s still a cruel enterprise that has no real purpose but to subject hundreds of dogs to real suffering.

Take action to end the Iditarod.
