Within the framework of its February 2022’s fact-finding mission to which RSF took part, MFRR confirmed the Netherlands’ pioneering role in providing a safe and enabling environment for the practice of journalism. Some instruments must however be further developed by the authorities to further tackle the increasingly hostile climate against Dutch reporters, and particularly against independent and female journalists.
