As Americans are firing up the barbecue over the Fourth of July weekend, PETA members will serve up some food for thought outside Addison Circle Park on Sunday—while the city’s holiday celebration is taking place—by barbecuing a “dog” on a grill that reads, “If You Wouldn’t Eat a Dog, Why Eat a Pig?”

When:      Sunday, July 3, 6–8 p.m.

Where:     Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Cir., Addison

“A pig deserves freedom from pain and fear every bit as much as a dog, a cat, or a human does,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is urging anyone who’s disturbed by the idea of chowing down on a chow chow to extend that compassion to all other animals and go vegan.”
