New York: The American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) organized a fundraising event in honor of Phil Ramos, a candidate for the Senate in New York State’s district 4.
The event, held at APPAC chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed’s residence in New York, was moderated by Adnan Bukhari, President of APPAC.
Adnan welcomed the guests on their arrival. On this occasion, he said that Phil Ramos is a bold and principled politician who has always been a staunch supporter of the Muslim community in NYC and worked for the resolution of their problems. On behalf of the Muslim community living in the US, particularly in NYC, Adnan extended his all-out support in the forthcoming polls to Phil Ramos.
Chief guest Phil Ramos had a detailed discussion on various issues with Chairman APPAC Dr. Ijaz Ahmed. APPEC host committee members Chaudhary Tanveer, Hasan Ahmed, Ijaz Bukhari, Nayyar Imam, Nayyar Abbas, Saeed Hassan, Athar Tirmizi and other prominent personalities of the community also participated in the event.
APPEC members said that we have high expectations from Phil Ramos, urging the Pakistani community to elect Phil Ramos as a senator with their vote.
The participants said that Phil Ramos is an effective and powerful voice for Muslims in American politics. It is hoped that he will be elected as a member of the Senate and will do more work in favor of Muslims.
On this occasion, Phil Ramos, while addressing the audience, said that APPAC has played a very key role in bringing the Muslim community into the American political system and solving problems without being involved in the political system.
At the end of the event, Phil Ramos thanked the entire APPAC team for fundraising. APEC appealed to the community to support every politician who raises voice for Muslims.
