New York: The Council of People’s Organization (COPO) has dispatched a consignment containing relief goods from New York to Pakistan.

Another container comprising humanitarian aid will be sent to Pakistan next week.

The Council of People’s Organization sent its relief supplies to Pakistan in a container from its office in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department’s (NYPD’s) Muslim Officers’ Society (MOS) also handed over aid collected for the flood victims to COPO, and MOS and COPO volunteers participated in the packing and containerization process of the relief items.

COPO head Muhammad Rizvi said that the flood victims of Pakistan still need a lot of help from the world at large; “we are trying to do something for our brothers and sisters who are in trouble with the support of our community,” he said.

The goods sent in the container include clothes, medical supplies and other items for the flood victims.

On this occasion, Sagheer Ahmed an officer representing Muslim Officers’ Society said that the community’s trust in MOS has increased due to its recent aid activities in Pakistan, and now the society is sending relief goods to Pakistan through COPO.

The Council of People’s Organization and the Muslim Officers Society have more supplies to help the flood victims and another container is likely to be sent to Pakistan next week.
