Rattlesnakes’ mouths will be sewn shut—likely without any painkillers—by an exhibitor who’s planning to sell photo ops at the Apache Rattlesnake Festival, taking place April 13 through 16 in Oklahoma. More than 50,000 PETA supporters have already spoken out against this cruelty, but the picture booth is still scheduled.
Please take action for sensitive rattlesnakes, who feel pain and deserve to be free from abuse:
- Call the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office at 405-247-6666 and ask why the department isn’t enforcing laws that are in place to protect animals from abuse.
- Contact the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook and urge the department to enforce Oklahoma’s cruelty-to-animals laws.
- Comment on the festival’s Facebook page and urge them to cancel this vile exhibit.
