Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Joel Bartlett, whose father donated his brain to Harvard Medical School, regarding indictments of the school’s staff for selling donated body parts from its morgue:

My father donated his brain to Harvard Medical School after he died of Alzheimer’s disease, in the hope that it would help scientists learn more about this devastating disease. Since then, I’ve learned that medical school staff have been selling body parts on the side and that one of its experimenters, Margaret Livingstone, has raked in millions to take baby monkeys away from their mothers, cage them alone, and distort their vision. She has even sewn monkeys’ eyelids shut. The school needs to clean house, and no one should donate—money or their remains—to support it until all the corrupt staff have been dismissed. It’s clear that Harvard can’t be trusted with deceased humans or living animals, and its medical school employs shady characters more interested in lining their own pockets than in good science.
