PACC hosts colourful 4th July Festival in Brooklyn

New York: Pakistani American Community Club (PACC) organized a colourful festival in New York on the occasion of the 4rth July, the Independence Day of America.

The event saw overwhelming participation from the Community members including important personalities.

PACC revived its tradition after a gap of three years and celebrated the Fourth of July festival by hoisting the flag on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.

The ceremony officially began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Naat.

People from Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indian communities participated in the Fourth of July festival in large numbers.

The program was moderated by Rubi Malik, addressing the participants, she said that we all migrated from our home country for a better future and settled here and our children are our future.

On this occasion, Mian Fayyaz, the head of Pakistani American Community Club and vice president of Muslim League-N America, addressed the audience and said that we established a tradition by organizing this program for the first time in 2005. We want to pay tribute to our new generation that is growing up in America and to the mothers who are nurturing them.

On this occasion, Faris Fayyaz, the son of Mian Fayyaz and a well-known attorney, welcomed the guests.
Addressing the participants, he said that the purpose of this event is to bring together the South Asian community on America’s independence.

Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indian songs were also presented to add color to the Fourth of July celebration, which the audience enjoyed.

On this occasion, General Secretary of Merchant Association Aziz Butt said that it is not difficult to establish any new tradition but it is difficult to maintain it. In the event, various questions based on intelligence test were asked to the children, to which the children answered and the children who answered correctly were awarded prizes.


Apart from this, the children also gave a speech.

Seniors participating in the festival also played games to refresh their memories and received prizes for winning, while at the end a cake cutting ceremony was also held to mark the Fourth of July festival.
