Apna Community Center, Apna Adult Daycare celebrate Independence Day of Pakistan in NYC

New York: The Pakistani Community in New York celebrated the 76th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan along with senior citizens, with teary eyes, they paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the freedom movement.

Pakistan’s national anthem was played on the Independence Day ceremony. Everyone waved the green crescent flag and presented patriotic songs together.

In addition to senior citizens living in adult day care, prominent personalities of the community and well-known comedian Abid Kashmiri also participated in the event.

Addressing the participants, Shazia Watto, Director of Apna Adult Day Care, said that Pakistanis no matter they live anywhere in the world, their hearts beat only for Pakistan, no one can reduce the love of Pakistan from their hearts.

On this occasion, remembering the eternal sacrifices of the Pakistan Movement and the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, a great tribute was paid to them, and the elderly women became overwhelmed.

Addressing the audience, they said that rulers come and go, no matter who leads, Pakistan will always remain.

On this occasion, the participants of the event expressed their feelings regarding the celebration of independence. They said that they have come to America in search of a better future, but their life and death are still only for Pakistan.

Cake cutting ceremony was also held at the conclusion of the event.
