Next, Lawson walks Sam and Emma through his latest work on the absolute exploitation racket that is NCAA sports, first touching on the recent tentative settlement between the institution and the student-athletes they have refused to pay for years, before diving head first into the story of Marty Blazer, and how he came to expose the massive network of bribery that underpinned the entire NCAA system, with only the kids ever getting blamed. Wrapping up, Guy assesses the NCAA’s future (and likely end), from anti-trust exemption to athlete compensation.
And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma reflect on Alan Dershowitz reflecting on Alan Dershowitz, parse through the highlights of the alt-right’s reactions to the Trump convictions, and bask in Jerry Seinfeld going full idiotic reactionary. They also assess why Biden isn’t putting a greater focus on Trump’s conviction and abortion, plus, your IM’s!
