A program to support U.S. artists creatively engaging in the 2024 election
Are you an artist who wants to use your creativity to inspire people to vote this year?
Review our special Art for the Polls online workshops! Earlier this month, we provided resources and insights to help artists channel their unique skills and imagination into effective civic engagement in 2024.
Watch recordings of the trainings below — and apply for funding and mentorship to realize your pro-voter creative project ideas by July 26!
Art for the Polls is a 501c3-friendly collaboration with People for the American Way Foundation, Cleveland VOTES, Common Cause NC, the Chinese-American Planning Council, and the NY League of Conservation Voters Education Fund.
Art for the Polls
In Art for the Polls, we:
- Connected with our artistic activist origins
- Got inspired by creative civic engagement campaigns that featured whales, horses, witches, and so much more
- Reviewed all the powers of art
- Learned how to make art that goes beyond raising awareness to move people to action
- Started building winning creative campaigns
In addition to the Art for the Polls workshop, we held advanced, state-specific workshops focused on New York and North Carolina. In these advanced workshops, we:
- Envisioned big wins for our communities
- Got details about the opportunities and stakes of the upcoming elections — federal and local
- Practiced tools for defining audiences
- Used our artistic talents to overcome barriers to participation
- Got tips on planning engaging actions
- Learned about prototyping, evaluation, and assessment
