The Center for Artistic Activism was founded with a bold vision: combining the powers of art with the impact of activism to create meaningful change.
Over the years, the Center’s team developed a unique methodology designed to help advocates harness creativity and culture to amplify their impact. Now, 15 years later, the Center is reflecting on how this methodology has influenced thousands of individuals and organizations. To achieve this, the Center for Artistic Activism launched a comprehensive research project, analyzing data from over 160 of our workshops and collecting feedback through surveys, evaluations, and in-depth interviews with alumni.
The result is this report, 15 Years of Impact, which highlights how the Center’s artistic activism methodologies lead to eight transformative practices that can supercharge any advocacy effort. These practices—ranging from imagination and innovation to emotion and pollination—form the foundation of the methodologies we teach. The report also features inspiring stories of global practitioners who have applied these practices to develop creative, impactful campaigns addressing critical issues, from corruption to climate change.
