Good Law Project have highlighted that some of the same companies that spent June celebrating Pride Month are advertising with GB News – a platform that pumps out hatred of LGBTQ+ people.

GB News: hate mongers
Big brands such as Adobe, Burberry, KLM, Listerine, Nissan, SoundCloud, Squarespace, Trainline, and Vistaprint all advertise on both GB News’ website and YouTube channel.
Hate or Pride?
Burberry, Adobe, KLM, Listerine, Nissan, Radisson Hotels, SoundCloud, Squarespace, Trainline: the big brands that fund GB News’ revolting homophobia whilst claiming to support Pride.
Here’s how you write to them and ask them to choose. https://t.co/7KPjhWkRrc

Good Law Project have teamed up with Stop Funding Hate and is asking these companies to drop GB News.
Why are you funding homophobia and hate by advertising on GB News?https://t.co/mvkjd4yzMm

Back in 2021, The Guardian reported:
Activists are already calling for boycotts of brands that advertise on the channel, on the grounds that they believe it is hoping to monetise divisive political issues and to push the boundaries of UK TV news regulations, which require politically balanced broadcasts.
Around the same time, Ikea, Grolsch and Kopparberg all suspended all advertising with GB News due to the ‘station’s perceived conflict with their values.’
Rising hate crimes
Shockingly, in the last five years, the number of hate crimes against trans people has more than doubled. Two-thirds of LGBTQ+ people report having experienced anti-LGBTQ+ violence or abuse. Of these, 92% had experienced verbal abuse, 29% had experienced physical violence, and 17% had experienced sexual violence.
Disappointing to see brands that claim to support Pride funding this kind of hate. @GavinBrookswin, this is why we need allies to step up—silence isn’t an option. Time to pick a side.

34% of Black and brown LGBTQ+ people have experienced a hate crime or incident in the past twelve months, compared to 20% of white LGBTQ+ people.
Anti-LGBTQ+ attitudes can affect every area of a person’s life. In healthcare, 13% of LGBTQ+ people have experienced some form of unequal treatment. One in five LGBTQ+ people have experienced homelessness, and 11% have experienced domestic abuse.
News is changing
GB News has grown year on year, making it the fourth biggest news brand in the UK. Consequently, this rise in popularity makes their straight-up homophobia and transphobia even more dangerous. In November 2024, the channel averaged 70,430 live viewers. In comparison, Sky News had 67,670 over the same period. Astonishingly, it now has 559,000 weekly listeners on their radio station and over six million followers on their social platforms
This is while news avoidance is up to 46%, and trust in news has fallen to 40% globally.
The Good Law Project campaign page says:
Maybe these firms have no idea their ads are appearing next to transphobic and homophobic hate. But when you know, you know.
You can’t say you support LGBTQ+ rights while funding a platform that attacks them.
Within 24 hours of Good Law Project launching their campaign, Radisson pulled out of all advertisements on GB News.
You can get involved with the campaign here, by writing to companies asking them to stop advertising with the outlet.
One thing is clear – brands that make a big song and dance about Pride month are benefitting financially from advertising on a homophobia and transphobia-filled news site. Advertisers have a decision to make, and Good Law Project is asking people to make the same one. Pick a side: hate or Pride.
