The US Treasury Department has confirmed that the national debt has passed $37tn – and it’s in no small part thanks to Donald Trump.
How much???
Back in 2020, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that the total federal debt would not reach $37tn until after 2030.
AMERICA’S DEBT BOMB: WE JUST HIT $37 TRILLION AND NOBODY’S TALKING ABOUT IT
The Treasury just dropped Monday’s numbers.
Total debt: $37,004,818,000,000.
We’ve added $1.54 trillion since October.
That’s $4.2 billion per day. Every single day.
The math is apocalyptic.… https://t.co/MK3EBgdDmG pic.twitter.com/fXz0ZTfizL

I can hear Trump’s speech already. We did it. I am truly the greatest, and we hit the target five years early. Five years early, that is quite some achievement.
‘Big Beautiful Bill’
When Trump started his first term in the White House in 2016, he promised to eliminate the country’s national debt, which was $19tn at the time. By the end of his first term, in October 2020, the debt had increased to $27tn.
BREAKING: Republican Rep. Thomas Massie: “Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, U.S. debt has now topped $37 trillion.”
Trump once bragged he’d eliminate the national debt in 8 years. Instead, his “big beautiful” spending spree has left America drowning in record debt.

Recently, the debt has risen even more sharply thanks to Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill”.
Unfortunately, the muppets who voted for him were foolish enough to believe him. But a Zebra can’t change its stripes.
And all the MAGAs cheered on their cult leader when he said he was going to lower the national debt. Now they are paying out of their own pocket while he explodes the debt. And they are still too dumb to realize it. The dumbest cult in history. https://t.co/QitCtLpfn5

Six bankruptcies and counting for Trump
He had previously filed for business bankruptcy six times. What makes them think that an overpaid satsuma suddenly learned how to be financially responsible?
National debt now $37 TRILLION. Unchecked Federal Government spending is the Achilles Heel of the American experiment. Heartbreaking to see it play out.

The biggest, most beautiful bill the world has ever seen has so far screwed over small businesses and working-class people.
Meanwhile, US House Representatives are learning that actions really do have consequences.

In total, Trump caused nearly a third of all national debt.
Trump added $7.8 trillion to the debt his first term. Another $3.4 trillion already this term. Nearly a third of the National debt has been caused by Trump https://t.co/pZZltC9rOP

But of course, he has never cared about being responsible with the American people’s money.
Trump doesn’t care. The Tea Party, founded the day Obama took office, doesn’t care. It was never about fiscal responsibility.
It was and is about racists wanting power. They have it now. https://t.co/DQTQPlB8Yq

Trump claimed to hate debt. He filed for bankruptcy six times. He claimed he would end the US national debt. He has grown the US national debt by a third. All he has ever cared about is power, and he is using that power to throw his weight around. Yet still, MAGA cult members believe that he will make America Great again. He will have a hard time making anything great again when the US runs out of money to borrow.
