Extended conversation with Liat Beinin Atzili, an Israeli American high school teacher who was held hostage in Gaza for 54 days after being seized on October 7, 2023. Her story is the focus of the new documentary Holding Liat, directed by Brandon Kramer. The film follows her parents, Yehuda and Chaya Beinin, as they cope with the fear and uncertainty of their daughter’s captivity while witnessing Israel’s war on Gaza unfold in real time. Holding Liat premieres Friday, January 9, at Film Forum in New York, where Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman will moderate a Q&A with Liat Atzili and director Brandon Kramer.
