The Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) have revealed that an estimated 3 million sexualised images were generated by Elon Musk’s Grok AI in just 10 days. Perhaps most disturbingly of all, 23,000 of the images were of children. The billionaire has faced growing calls to address the disgusting practice introduced on 29th December until the 8th January. The ‘feature’ was subsequently locked behind a paywall from the 9th January. Yet again, reinforcing the sense that harm is acceptable so long as it remains profitable for a multi-billionaire.
Furthermore, the new figures provided in CCDH’s analysis provide a disturbing insight into men and their deeply unhealthy obsession with sex. The very fact that this happened within ten days, in full view of public condemnation, shows how deep the problem runs. Moreso, it’s one that women and girls have been calling out for years.
NEW: We analyzed the images Grok created at the beginning of the year and found that a significant portion of the millions of rendered images were sexualizing people without their consent.

Sex-obsession meets Musk’s profit obsession
This analysis lays bare the sick interests that these services speak to the most. The CCDH estimated that 65% of images generated were sexualised, representing a significant majority. In turn, this suggests that a majority of engagement choose to invade another’s privacy by turning people’s personal pictures into porn. The findings state that the 3 million images were of men, women and children, with a conservative estimate that 1.8 million contained pornographic imagery of women.
On the backdrop of rising violence against women and girls, it appears men were happy to find a new means of attack. CCDH expose how X users exploited a tool where they could increase their sexual assaults ‘digitally.’ Women and children account for at least two thirds of the sexualised images. It is important to remember that this is conservative estimate. We wouldn’t be surprised to learn further down the line that the figure is in fact significantly higher.
women: please stop undressing us and violating our images with Grok

We reported recently on OFCOM’s potential ban on X. We wrote how the UK government has been encouraging the regulator to use ‘all powers’ to address the billionaires wilful negligence. This is, of course, nowhere near good enough. In fact, Labour MP Jess Asato, who campaigned for the regulation of pornography, stated:
While it is a step forward to have removed the universal access to Grokโs disgusting nudifying features, this still means paying users can take images of women without their consent to sexualise and brutalise them. Paying to put semen, bullet holes or bikinis on women is still digital sexual assault and xAI should disable the feature for good.
This sickening controversy has sparked furious public debate about where the duty of responsibility should lie. Many pro-Musk fanboys and fangirls have defended the app, saying the user is the issue. Others have taken aim at the feature alone, because we all know these twisted fantasists and child abusers exist.
Let us be clear: both carry responsibility and all offenders need to be properly addressed.
Creeps and pedophiles are now using grok to undress women and children on this app.
Now would probably be a good time to remove photos of yourself and your children from the internet. https://t.co/xHeXOF3Gh6 pic.twitter.com/jHwo5GqlFD

Blame doesnโt stop with the user โ the toolmaker shares it
Abuse is monstrous โ but so is building businesses that profit from the fantasies behind it. The UK Government is right to push the regulator to curb the X platform. If AI can detect blood in images of Palestinians and censor them from view, it can just as easily recognise sexualised images of women or children.
The world order we are hurtling towards should terrify us all. On one hand, we have a ‘board of bullies’ being established which signals an end to the mythical rules-based order. Especially given it is led by a toxic billionaire who is attempting to forcefully buy Greenland. On the other, we have Musk gleeful about building profitable businesses through appealing to the most disgusting fantasies. Clearly Musk is hiding behind the digital anonymity of abusers.
All whilst sacrificing countless women and children as ‘collateral damage’ in a ruthless bid for ultimate wealth.
Unless we all start to shout about it, that is.
