Rights activists, lawyers, and family members of victims of enforced disappearance have come together in a resolute show of solidarity as Odhikar, a human rights organization, joined a large-scale rally today. The purpose of the gathering was to vehemently condemn the escalating incidents of enforced disappearance within the country and to demand justice for the affected individuals.
During the rally, impassioned speakers underscored the pressing need to bring the perpetrators responsible for these abhorrent acts of enforced disappearance to trial. They stressed that enforced disappearance not only infringes upon the fundamental rights of individuals but also undermines the very foundations of justice and democracy. Furthermore, the participants expressed deep concerns regarding other forms of human rights abuses, such as extrajudicial killings, custodial deaths, and torture, and urged immediate action to halt such atrocities. The collective call to end enforced disappearance and seek justice for the victims resonated powerfully throughout the rally, sending a compelling message to the authorities that the community will not remain silent in the face of such grave violations.
