U.S gears up to celebrate 4th July

NEW YORK; US has geared up to celebrate 247th anniversary of its Independence on 4th July with national zest and fervor, on Tuesday.

The day has great significance for the people of the US as on Jul 4, 1776, American freedom fighters signed the remarkable Declaration of Independence and they announced their independence from Great Britain.

The day is marked across the US, with fireworks, bonfires a reading of the Declaration of Independence, participating in parades, outdoor gatherings and other activities.

The U.S. Capitol grounds will be the site of an annual Independence Day concert that is televised to the nation. Performers this year include Chicago, Babyface, the National Symphony Orchestra and the U.S. Army Band.

Washington is also hosting its traditional Independence Day parade down Constitution Avenue on Tuesday.

“The Star-Spangled Banner,” the national anthem of the United States is sung during various events to mark the historic day. The celebrations also involve parades, official ceremonies, cookouts, picnic gatherings, events and of course, grand fireworks.
