Evidence: NYPD Officer Omar Habib Uses a Prohibited Chokehold on Black Man in Elevator

Security camera video shows Habib attacking Prewitt after a verbal dispute in an elevator. Chokeholds are prohibited by the NYPD.

Our investigation found that the Civilian Complaint Review Board, which investigates police misconduct, has substantiated 40 instances of NYPD officers using prohibited chokeholds since 2014. None of those officers have been fired.
