PTI Nominated Abdul Qayyum Niazi as AJK Prime Minister

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry announced on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan had nominated Abdul Qayyum Niazi as the next Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In a tweet, the minister said that PM Imran Khan had made the decision after extensive consultation and reviewing all suggestions. “He is a dynamic and genuine political activist and his heart beats for the people,” he said.

Abdul Qayyum Niazi has won from the LA-18 Poonch-1 constituency of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had interviewed five candidates for the post of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Barrister Sultan Mahmood, Khawaja Farooq, Azhar Sadiq, and Abdul Qayyum Niazi. Prime Minister Imran Khan had questioned the candidates about the environment, tourism, economy, national and international affairs, border issues, and future strategy.

PTI candidate Anwar-ul-Haq was elected as Speaker and Riaz Gujjar was elected as Deputy Speaker of Azad Kashmir Assembly.
