At a press conference Tuesday, Sheinbaum dismissed reports of a proposed US military operation against drug trafficking on Mexican soil and asserted her government would not permit it under any circumstances.
“That’s not going to happen. We have no reports that that’s going to happen, and we disagree with it, and we’ve made that clear to President Trump,” the head of state said in response to a report published the previous day by NBC News. Sheinbaum recalled that both countries signed a bilateral agreement Sept. 3 following a meeting at the National Palace with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. She emphasized the deal is based on non-negotiable principles.
