Reform’s Lee Anderson isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. If anything, he’s more of a misplaced spoon. In fact, if we’re saying other politicians are like cutlery, it might be better to compare him to a mouse trap or a cactus.
With that in mind, here’s 30p Lee suggesting GB News is impartial:
Shocking Stuff.@GBNEWS is the only truly impartial media outlet in the UK yet the Chancellor refuses to engage https://t.co/dI9g4IpeZu
— Lee Anderson MP (@LeeAndersonMP_) November 26, 2025
And this isn’t the first time he’s made the claim either.
Partially there
If Anderson argued GB News was the ‘best’ or ‘most accurate’ UK outlet, what he’s saying would be less ridiculous. It would still be wrong, of course — just wrong in a fashion which didn’t make him look like a clown.
In fairness, there is a sort of honesty in making it clear that he’s a joke. After all, Anderson is the guy who tried to get away with this:

You can practically hear the circus music playing in the background.
Regarding the argument that GB News is impartial, we ask you to consider the following:
- GB News was set up by right-wing journalists and pundits with money from right-wing donors.
- It’s initial segments included ‘Wokewatch’.
- Upon its founding, Ofcom described it as an “unapologetically partisan, right-of-centre take on events”.
- Founder Andrew Neil said that the right-wing Fox News was a key inspiration.
- Anderson’s boss, Nigel Farage, is literally a host on the channel.
Oh, and before we forget, Lee fucking Anderson is also a host:
Siding with Trump
Earlier this month, Anderson described GB News as “far and balanced” while also promoting Donald Trump:
There you go..
Tune in to @GBNEWS to get a fair and balanced view of the political world. https://t.co/tqZS1KapgD
— Lee Anderson MP (@LeeAndersonMP_) November 10, 2025
While the BBC definitely fucked up with their Trump coverage, only a person who’s been living in a cave would still believe that Trump is a perpetual victim of “Fake News”. To be fair, Anderson does look like he might live in a cave … and it’s not just the left who think this; even Trump’s own base is waking up to his double dealing.
Before you accuse us of sucking up to the establishment media, we were laying into the BBC before Anderson was even a Tory MP. In fact, we were laying into them when he was still a Labour councillor. We’ll no doubt be laying into them when Reform proves to be too left-wing for Anderson, and he abandons Farage for a party like Advance UK.
Anderson has claimed in the past that he’s impartial on the telly yet partial in the chamber:
Who Knew?
We all did. I am as impartial as they come when it comes to my @GBNEWS role.
In the Chamber though it’s a different matter.https://t.co/SMp9bW0z5n pic.twitter.com/pJ9qiAlvwo

If Anderson and Farage truly believed this, they wouldn’t be wasting their time presenting. You’re free to think otherwise, of course, but you’re also free to drink paint, and we wouldn’t recommend that either.
True impartiality doesn’t exist
The other day, famously left-wing politician Jeremy Corbyn was interviewed by the Canary – the outlet you’re reading right now – an outlet which is also famously left-wing.

Imagine how stupid we or Corbyn would have looked if we’d described the interview as ‘impartial’. We’re very fucking partial, thanks, and so is Anderson. The difference is he thinks his supporters are too stupid to notice.
The reason we’re comfortable being partial is we exist in a media and political ecosystem which is dominated by fraudulent impartiality. Being partial doesn’t mean an outlet presents incorrect information. It means they present it from a certain perspective. We made the decision that it’s better to be honest about our perspective rather than to be sly about it.
Anderson of GB News, meanwhile, wants people to think that a show called Lee Anderson’s Real World is actually just the real world.
Absolutely sanctimonious behaviour.
