Back in 2021, Billie Eilish gifted fans something even sweeter than a new song: a peek into her kitchen. The Grammy-winning vegan star took to Instagram to share a step-by-step tutorial for her go-to peanut butter chocolate chip cookies—and yes, they’re every bit as decadent as they sound.
Eilish walked her followers through the simple recipe, starting with a 350-degree oven and a mixing bowl filled with a cup of brown sugar and a cup of creamy peanut butter. While filming a slow pour of peanut butter slipping from the measuring cup, she let fans in on her pantry secret: Costco’s Kirkland Signature Organic Peanut Butter. “FYI this is my favorite peanut butter in the whole world,” she wrote, noting that she uses it in practically everything.
She went on to share, “These cookies are fully vegan and gluten-free and AMAZING, so the flour is literally just oats blended up and they work perfectly.” To make your own oat flour at home, simply add rolled oats to a blender or food processor and pulse until they turn into a fine, powdery flour—no special equipment, no extra ingredients, just instant oat flour.

Eilish shared the cookie recipe not long after releasing her first food product: a vegan milk chocolate bar tied to her Happier Than Ever album. A longtime vegan (she’s been plant-based since she was 12), Eilish explained to fans that she created the bar after years of searching for a dairy-free milk chocolate that actually tasted like the real thing. “Milk chocolate used to be my favorite thing on earth,” she said at the time. “After going vegan, I could never find one that hit the same—and I never really loved dark chocolate.”
In her original cookie tutorial, she chopped pieces of the bar and folded them into the dough, adding pockets of melty, creamy chocolate to her peanut butter cookies. Feel free to use your favorite vegan chocolate. Opt for semi-sweet, decadent dark chocolate, or a vegan milk chocolate like Eilish.
Now, as we head into peak cookie-baking season, we’re recreating Billie’s nostalgic recipe for the holidays—it’s vegan, cozy, and celebrity-approved.
