British-Palestinian surgeon Abu-Sittah defeats 10th vexatious UKLFI attack

British-Palestinian surgeon Ghassan Abu-Sittah has defeated yet another ‘lawfare’ assault by the Israel lobby since the beginning of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. It was the tenth such attack, another attempt by legal bullies ‘UK Lawyers for Israel’ (UKLFI) to deprive him of his medical licence. It failed.

Abu-Sittah has been repeatedly targeted by UKLFI. His ‘offence’ has been to speak out about what he saw as a volunteer doctor in Gaza: Israel’s genocide, war crimes and the suffering, injury and death of its innocent Palestinian victims.

Abu-Sittah: victorious again

UKLFI has attacked everything from a display of plates painted by Palestinian children to Netflix — is well known for its attempts to suppress pro-Palestinian speech and solidarity, particularly in the NHS and in the media-cultural sector.

It recently intimidated a gallery owner into ending a smash-hit art show.

UKLFI has forced the resignation of a university museum director for daring to host a display by technical experts who exposed Israeli lies during the genocide.

It tried to force Tower Hamlets Council in London to take down Palestinian flags put up by residents in solidarity with Gaza, by claiming that local Jewish residents felt threatened.

The group’s sources of funding are opaque but it is known to have sought help from Israel’s propaganda ministry. Its chief spokeswoman was among a pro-Israel group alleged to have tried to browbeat US right-winger Charlie Kirk into line before his assassination.

Along with its fellow apartheid apologist group, the so-called ‘Campaign Against Antisemitism’ (CAA), it has fallen foul of regulators. CAA has been subjected to regulatory action for its political smears and humiliated in court for false accusations against comedian Reginald D Hunter. UKLFI is currently being investigated for vexatious threats.

And today in Manchester, Abu-Sittah was completely exonerated of all the latest smears. While precise details of the smears and the full text of the ruling have not yet been made public, all accusations against him were kicked out of the tribunal.

Jewish-Israeli anti-Zionist Yael Kahn has been targeted by the Starmer regime for opposing the genocide and defeated the attempt. She attended the General Medical Council (GMC) hearing today in Manchester and told Skwawkbox that:

Dr Ghassan Abu Sitta was cleared of each and every malicious lie the vexatious Zionist GMC threw at him. All the fake accusations were dismissed. His reputation is intact and the Zionist plan to use it against every charity he is associated with is stopped in its tracks.

McCarthyite

Though Abu-Sittah has won every time, the cost in stress and finance has been enormous. He told Declassified UK last month that:

The aim is never to win. The aim is financial and mental attrition [to] create a McCarthyite culture of fear.

Solidarity with Dr Abu-Sittah, Yael Kahn and all those targeted by the Israel lobby and its craven government collaborators. Solidarity with the people of Gaza against genocide, occupation and imperialism.
