US, Israel Vote Against UN Resolution Condemning Translatlantic Slave Trade

The U.S. and Israel were two of only three countries to vote against a resolution in the UN to condemn the transatlantic slave trade as the “gravest crime against humanity” and calling for reparations. The resolution strongly condemns slavery and the trafficking of Africans and recognizes the impacts of the “abhorrent regimes of slavery and colonialism” and contemporary colonialism of Africa.
