Sue Bull, the Socialist Alliance candidate for the seat of Corio, in Geelong, said in an interview with Green Left a day after Treasurer Josh Frydenberg delivered the 2022-23 federal budget, that the once-off $250 cost-of-living payment for pensioners and others struggling to survive on welfare was “an insult”. She also said workers need real wage rises and the budget had totally failed to address the climate emergency even as arts of Australia are being hit with disastrous floods following the terrifying bush fire emergency of 2019-2020.
