Older People’s Human Rights
BIHR will speak on Tuesday at a meeting of the APPG on Ageing and Older People. This will be the final meeting of the group’s inquiry into human rights. BIHR’s Policy and Programmes Manager, Helen Wildbore, has been asked to address the right to good and adequate care as a human rights issue. Helen will share learning from our programme work with older people, service providers, support groups and advocates on how human rights has been used to improve decision-making, transform the culture of services and make a real difference to the lives of older people.
BIHR has submitted evidence to the inquiry giving examples of how the Human Rights Act has changed lives and changed organisations: BIHR submission
