The fire has wreaked havoc, killing 19 people and displaced several families, most of them were Ghanaian Muslims.     A fire broke out in a house of the residential area located at East 9th street on Cortelio Road, Brooklyn, New York last night, engulfing the entire house in a fraction of seconds and also ablaze nearby homes.

    New York Fire Department (NYFD) personnel rushed to the scene as the fire was reported and started the rescue operation, but by then the fire had engulfed the adjoining house.

    According to the FDNY authorities, the victims were able to vacate the house on time so they were safe and no one was in critical condition. Seven people were injured in the blaze and were rushed to a nearby hospital

    Fire department personnel have contained the blaze, but both houses have been turning to ashes due to the heavy blaze.

    The cause of the fire is not yet known, and authorities investigating.

    In frightening spine tingling CCTV footage, a woman was seen fainting and tumbling, falling under a moving train but shockingly, she survived the accident.

    The commuter, identified occurred at Candela, reported by the New York Post can be seen becoming suddenly unsteady and losing her balance. She stumbles towards an oncoming train.

    As she stumbles, she falls between two carriages and vanishes. The incident took place in Argentina on March 29. A user share this spine tingling CCTV footage update on her social media handle.

    Commuters suddenly rushed to help the woman, who miraculously came out unharmed.

    “I don’t know how I’m still alive. I’m still trying to make sense of it all,”  the Post quoted her as saying.

    “I suffered a sudden drop in blood pressure and fainted. I tried to warn the person in front of me but don’t remember anything else, even the moment I smashed into the train,” she was quoted as saying by an Argentinian News Broadcaster.

    An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday sentenced six accused to capital punishment for their involvement in the lynching of the Sri Lankan factory manager Priyantha Kumara.

    89 men have been indicted in the murder case of Priyantha, of which nine are minors. Among these, the court has awarded life imprisonment to seven, while 76 convicts have been awarded two years of jail time.

    Earlier a year back, a brutal mob beat to death and set alight Priyantha Kumara, a 48-year-old Sri Lankan citizen and factory manager in Punjab’s city of Sialkot. The then prime minister Imran Khan had condemned the vigilante violence and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

    The anti-terrorism court completed the trial of the case in Kot Lakhpat Jail. Both the prosecution and the defense had concluded their arguments that was heard on a daily basis. The statements of the investigation officers and eyewitnesses had also been recorded.

    During the trial, the case presided over by judge Natasha Naseem, the prosecution had brought to court 46 eyewitnesses. Furthermore, the CCTV footage of 10 cameras submitted as evidence which was installed at the site of the murder, as well as videos taken from the mobile phones of 55 accused men.

    The investigation and trial were completed by a five-member team headed by public prosecutor Abdul Rauf Wattoo.

    Another horrific incident of violence against women in India’s Maharashtra where a man allegedly killed his wife after she added excessive salt to the khichdi she served him for breakfast.

    According to police, reported by India.com, the man, identified as Nilesh Ghagh, 46, strangulated his 40-year-old wife Nirmala to death at about 9:30am as he lost his temper because the food was too salty.

    The suspect used a long piece of cloth to strangulate his wife, adding that the case is under investigation and the authorities are trying to ascertain there was no other motive behind the murder, Police added.

    Violence against women is rampant in South Asia and killing women over petty issues is not unheard of. According to the publication, a similar incident had taken place last week when a man shot his daughter-in-law dead after she failed to serve him breakfast along with tea.

    Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) top leader and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Jemima Goldsmith shared her horror of living in Pakistan as she shared the poster of a protest being planned outside her London house on April 17 (Sunday).

    “Protest outside my house, targeting my children, anti-Semitic abuse on social media… It’s almost like I’m back in 90s Lahore,” Jemima Goldsmith tweeted with #PuranaPakistan, in her first social media reaction after the ouster of Imran Khan through the no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.

    Imran Khan was married to Jemima Goldsmith in 1995 which lasted to 2004 and they have two children both were boys. Following her divorce, she left Pakistan and settled in London. In several interviews, Jemima revealed how she was subjected to anti-Semitic attacks for decades.

    In a bitter social media exchange last year, Jemima had said, “I left Pakistan in 2004 after a decade of anti-Semitic attacks by the media & politicians. But still it continues.”

    Meanwhile, Abid Sher Ali share an update on his social media handle that PML-N decides to protest outside the house of Jemima Goldsmith, first wife of Imran Khan on Sunday.

    The UK government, however, distanced itself from its foreign office minister’s statement and said it is not the position of the UK government. “With regard to Pakistan, we respect Pakistan’s democratic system and we would not get into its domestic political affairs.     The renowned humanitarian and philanthropist late Abdul Sattar Edhi wife Bilquis Bano Edhi, passed away at the age of 74 on Friday after a brief hospitalization.

    She was admitted to a hospital in Karachi for three days and was rushed after her blood pressure had suddenly dropped. According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, Bilquis was ill for the last one month.

    Bilal had added that Bilquis had congestive heart failure and she has already undergone a heart bypass twice.

    First Lady Tehmina Durrani had also visited her during Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s maiden visit to the port city on Wednesday.

    Earlier, Pakistan’s well known philanthropist and humanitarian was declared the “Person of the Decade”, along with human rights rapporteur of the UN Prof Yanghee Lee and the US ethicist Stephen Soldz.

    Bilquis was a professional nurse and headed the Bilquis Edhi Foundation. She spent more than six decades of her life serving humanity in need.

    According to New York Post, A troubled man who railed against Mayor Eric Adams and made bizarre, threatening rants on YouTube has been identified as a person of interest and now a suspect in the savage Brooklyn subway attack that injured at least 23 people Tuesday morning, officials said.

    New York Post further reported that Frank James warned last month that he was “entering the danger zone”  rented a U-Haul van tied to the N train attack in Sunset Park and is being sought for questioning, police said at an evening briefing.

    “Mr. Mayor, I’m a victim of your mental health program,” James said in one lengthy video.

    “I’m 63 now full of hate, full of anger, and full of bitterness.”

    He also criticized the mayor for not doing more to combat homelessness.

    “Eric Adams, Eric Adams: What are you doing, brother? What’s happening with this homeless situation,” he said while referring to the subway. “Every car I went to was loaded with homeless people. It was so bad, I couldn’t even stand. I had to keep moving from car to car.”

    The NYPD said it was increasing security for Adams after police discovered the videos reported New York Post.

    The former PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the concerned institutions to take action against those involved in spreading false rumors about his divorce on social media.

    Aamir Liaquat’s wife Syeda Dania Aamir has also declined the news circulating on social media of her divorce and calling it false and urging people to “stop spreading rumours” of a divorce with Liaquat.

    She also post a video on Instagram and said that “Rumours are rumours, we will not allow anyone to spread false news. Aamir is Dania and Dania is Aamir, full stop,” she captioned the video.

    Former PTI leader Aamir Liaquat blamed the PTI social media team and workers are responsible for spreading false news about his divorce.

    Amir officially quit PTI and calling Opposition’s move against the premier is “justified” and respond to the rumors’ on social media handle.

    Amir said: “I vehemently deny all the rumors’ that PTI and its mercenaries are spreading that I have parted ways with Dania.”

    “We love each other immensely. I warned PTI and their rented goons. Don’t enter in my home, otherwise nothing will be left.” Amir added.

    The PTI Virginia President Johnny Bashir organizes demonstrations in front of the Pakistani embassy, Washington to express solidarity against the overthrown of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government through a no-confidence motion.  The demonstration attended by a large number of Pakistani Community including youth, men, women and senior citizens. Participants hold banners and placards, including Pakistan and party flags.

    The demonstrators chant they stand with Imran Khan and said

    “He did not argue why he was expelled but the world notice he’s ousted through conspiracy. We reject such forger’s government”.

    Most of the demonstrators were dressed in green crescent flags and PTI party flags.

    “Participants added there is no better leader than Imran Khan”.

    25 PTI members moved No confidence motion in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly against Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi for his “failure to implement Party manifesto and fail to deliver good governance” apart from other alleged shortcoming.

    According to Dawn News, “A resolution to the vote of no confidence motion is being submitted under Article 18 of the AJK Constitution for the following reasons”.

    “The prime minister has lost the confidence of the PTI parliamentary party for bad governance, nepotism and violation of merit, and for not highlighting the Kashmir issue,” it added.

    The Fire Department said, the new wave of violence in New York city’s transit system leaves 5 people were shot and at least 13 were injured on Tuesday by a man in a gas mask and orange construction vest who thrown a smoke canister on the platform to distract the rush hour crowd, according to NYPD officials and senior law enforcement officials. Undetonated explosive devices was also found by law enforcement officials.

     

    The incident took place during the morning commute at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood, according to news media. CNN and other media reported that at least five people were shot, citing sources in the New York Fire Department. It was not clear the number of injured people included those who were shot. A video posted on social media handle that New York citizens comes out in Panic from under ground subway metro.

     

    A massive law enforcement presence around the subway station, including heavily armed officers and dozens of police cruisers and emergency vehicles. A New York City police spokesperson told news agencies that officers were responding to the scene, but did not have details on the number of injured.

    The NYPD warned citizens to stay away from the area, which is known for its thriving Chinatown, views of the Statue of Liberty and Industry City, a sprawling warehouse district that has become home to many creative businesses.

    New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been briefed on the situation, a Mayor’s spokesperson pleaded with New Yorkers to avoid the area and to assist in the investigation.

    New York Governor Kathy Hochul also update her social media handle and share the NYPD advisory.
