World’s largest streaming platform Netflix is now officially debuting in the world of mobile games. When updating the Netflix app for Android, the user will find, as of today, a new tab or section with unusual but interesting content.

Netflix in a statement said that we love games, whether it’s physical games (Floor Is Lava), mind games (The Circle), or Squid Games. And we love entertaining our members. That’s why we’re excited to take our first step in launching Netflix games on mobile to the world.

    https://about.netflix.com/en/news/let-the-games-begin-a-new-way-to-experience-entertainment-on-mobile

As a result of the update, Netflix subscribers across the globe can now be able to play five mobile games, Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop).

The new development is a result of a years-long experiment that the video streaming company is doing to go beyond offering movies and television series and please both its investors and users with newer experiences.

It should be noted that none of these games have advertising, nor do they have in-game purchases or any other additional charges. In fact, all you need to play these games is an active Netflix subscription, plus an updated Android smartphone. All this could, however, be an introductory move as Netflix may eventually be able to use gaming as a source of generating additional revenues.

Featured games will automatically adjust to the language set in each Netflix account. Thus, all the user has to do is open the game and enjoy it. You can pick them through the dedicated games row or games tab available on mobile devices or using from the categories drown down menu on tablets, and then download the selected games via Google Play. Once downloaded, the games will be available for access directly through the Netflix app.

To attract the masses, games on Netflix are available in as many languages as the platform has for its regular offerings. However, if you have not selected any particular language of your choice, games will default to English. Some of the Netflix games can even be played offline.

iPhone (iOS) users will have to wait a little longer. Nonetheless, according to the platform itself, the news will not be long in reaching the Apple ecosystem as well.

The South African businessman announced his intentions after being hinted at by the comment of the Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), David Beasley, who in an interview with CNN, appealed to billionaires like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos to step up now, just once and donate $6 billion to provide 42 million people facing severe levels of food insecurity.

He also pointed out that even using only 2% of Musk’s current net assets can solve the world’s hunger problem. This is roughly equivalent to about 6 billion U.S. dollars. The director of the United Nations Food Program said the US $6 billion can help 42 million people. If we don’t help them, they will really lose their lives. It’s not complicated.

The founder of the American companies Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, is ready to donate $ 6 billion from the sale of Tesla shares if it helps save the world from hunger.  He pointed out that if the World Food Program can accurately explain how US$6 billion solves the problem of world hunger, he now would prefer to sell some Tesla shares.

“If the World Food Program can accurately describe in this Twitter thread how $ 6 billion will solve world hunger, I will immediately sell Tesla shares,” he said.

However, the billionaire put forward some conditions to the director of the United Nations Food Program. In a subsequent tweet, the Tesla CEO pointed out that the United Nations World Food Program must be open to open source accounting. In this way, the public can see exactly how the $6 billion will be used and how these funds will effectively end world hunger.

“But the agency must accept open-source accounting so that the public can see exactly how the funds are being used”, he said.

According to the first post, it’s not unusual for parents to select a unique name for their children to make them stand out. And if you thought X Æ A-12 Musk had the most unusual ring to it, think again. An Indonesian boy is breaking the internet after his name was revealed to be ABCDEF GHIJK Zuzu!

Yes, you read it right. The 12-year-old student’s name is indeed the first 11 alphabets of the English language. The Indonesian boy’s unusual name was discovered during a vaccination drive held by the local police in Muara Enim District, Indonesia.

A police officer recorded a video of the boy with the unusual name when he came for immunization and the video has gone viral on the internet.

The boy went to get his COVID-19 vaccine and when he presented his identity card to the health officials in the South Sumatra province, the officials were surprised by the name of the child. Initially, the health authorities at the vaccination drive did not believe the boy when he told his name but they checked the name on his documents and the twelve-year-old also had a name tag sewed to his clothes.

Apparently, the father of the child, Zulfahmi, coined this name as the father loved crossword puzzles. Zuzu is, however, not a family name but an amalgamation of the child’s parents’ names, Zuhro and Zulfahmi.

The boy’s father said that he had prepared his son’s name six years prior to his birth and the idea came to him from a time when he wanted to be a writer. The boy is however called Adef at home.

The boy’s father, Zulfahmi, also decided to give his second and third sons a name based on the same lines and he had thought of keeping the second one’s name as NOPQ RSTUV and the third child’s name as XYZ but the family gave up the idea and picked different names for their children. The boy admitted that initially he was embarrassed by his name and even bullied at school. However, now he is proud of it.

Though, this is not the only unique Indonesian name that went viral this year. Prior to April, a man went viral for naming his newborn son after his office department! Another similar incident happened in 2019 when a child made waves online after he was named Google. In fact, it created so much buzz that the US tech company had sent gifts to the infant after his birth certificate went viral.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced to spend $111 million on fixing facades of public housing buildings in order to bring down unsightly sidewalk sheds that have long blighted complexes.

“I think it bothers NYCHA residents when you have those big sidewalk sheds, those big scaffolds that just seem to sit there for a long time and affect the quality of life, they affect the whole feeling of living in a development,” he said during a morning virtual press briefing, calling the structures a persistent issue that has bothered him throughout his tenure.

The eyesores have been left standing for up to five years due to a lack of sufficient resources to mend the buildings’ faces, according to the mayor.

The 400,000 New Yorkers who call NYCHA home are the backbone of our city, and we’re investing $111 million to repair building facades and pull down the sheds that have been eyesores in the community for too long, Mayor de Blasio said.

“We’re putting the resources in, the repairs get made, the sheds come down, the development’s safer, it looks better, it’s better for everyone,” said de Blasio.

Councilwoman Carlina Rivera (D-Lower East Side) said she was grateful for City Hall’s new investments. Meltzer Towers, a public housing complex for seniors, will be among the buildings the funding will be used to fix, the lawmaker noted.

“These sheds are not just a matter of aesthetic improvements,” ” she said. “They are safety issues, and constant reminders of systemic disinvestment in public housing, and they can make buildings look and feel forgotten.”

“I want to warn the Indian government that the way [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi committed oppression in Gujrat, what he did to Muslims in other regions of India, the way oppression is done by changing the Citizenship Amendment Act, my Kashmiri brother will fight against that, he is fighting and is laying down his life in sacrifice. He will not rest.”

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi said that when India failed to convince Kashmiris to become a part of the country using force, it introduced “black laws” and targeted Kashmiris under the guise of terrorism.

“India has always failed in its abhorrent objectives because the courage and strength of Kashmiris is like a wall of steel,” he said.
