The global shipping industry on Friday agreed to reduce planet-warming greenhouse gasses (GHG) to net zero \u201cby or around 2050,\u201d after China and others opposed a stricter emissions target despite mounting pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n The deal was agreed to by the 175 member states. It came at the end of a five-day meeting at the London headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the United Nations\u2019 global shipping regulator.<\/span><\/p>\n
