The Victorian government<\/strong> has committed $50 million to support the manufacture of mRNA vaccines in the state because of global vaccine supply insecurity.<\/p>\n Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are the first globally to have been made with this technology which is not presently available in Australia.<\/p>\n Acting Premier James Merlino told a media conference: \u201cIt is vital that we can develop and manufacture mRNA vaccines and treatments locally to ensure we can have vaccine security here in Australia and across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
