The best part? For \u201cI, Orca\u201d and \u201cI, Chicken,\u201d anyone with access to an Android phone and Google Cardboard can bring these powerful experiences to their community. For \u201cI, Calf,\u201d a VR headset like a Meta Quest 2 or 3 is required.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The \u2018I, Orca,\u2019 \u2018I, Chicken,\u2019 and \u2018I, Calf\u2019 Experiences<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Every animal is <em>someone<\/em>, and these VR systems allow us to observe the world from other animals\u2019 perspectives.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u2018I, Orca\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/blog\/go-underwater-with-petas-new-virtual-reality-experience-i-orca\/\">I, Orca<\/a>,\u201d participants can see, hear, and\u2014most importantly\u2014experience feelings like those of orcas subjected to SeaWorld\u2019s cruelty. This empathy project immerses participants in a world where they can swim freely in the ocean with their orca family. But as they soon learn, life for each of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/issues\/animals-used-for-food\/factory-farming\/chickens\/chicken-transport-slaughter\/\">26 million chickens slaughtered every day<\/a> is hell.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/ichicken3-e1476479005589.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-552008\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/ichicken3-e1476479005589.jpg\" alt=\"passerby experiencing PETA's virtual reality program called I, Chicken\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/issues\/animals-used-for-food\/factory-farming\/chickens\/hidden-lives-chickens\/\">Chickens are inquisitive animals<\/a> with distinct personalities, keen communication skills, and complex social structures. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/issues\/animals-used-for-food\/animals-used-food-factsheets\/poultry-eggs-industries-abuse-chickens\/\">on farms<\/a>, they\u2019re crammed by the tens of thousands into filthy sheds and are bred to grow such unnaturally large upper bodies that their legs often become crippled under their own weight. They\u2019re socially complex, develop friendships over time, and sometimes hold grudges against other cows who treat them badly.
