The designer brand joins a long list of companies that have banned this cruelly derived material, thanks to PETA\u2019s work exposing the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/headlines.peta.org\/end-speciesism\/\">speciesism<\/a>\u00a0behind breeding and killing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/issues\/animals-used-for-clothing\/\">animals for fashion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who Are You Wearing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/investigations.peta.org\/vietnam-snake-crocodile-farms\/\">PETA entities have documented<\/a> how the fashion industry hacks alligators\u2019 necks and shoves metal rods into their heads, chops off conscious lizards\u2019 heads with machetes, and pumps snakes full of water to loosen their skin before it\u2019s peeled off\u2014often while they\u2019re still conscious.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-player\">\n<div class=\"widescreen-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"PETA Asia Investigation: Pythons Inflated to Death for Leather\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/518352900?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Snakes have been around since dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and there are now more than 3,000 species of them. Most snakes who live near humans are harmless, and encounters with them are relatively rare, thanks to their keen ability to detect vibrations with their stomachs and lower jaws. Some female snakes wrap their bodies around their eggs and shiver to heat themselves up in order to keep them warm.
