On April 27, Human Rights Watch released the report\u00a0\u201cA Threshold Crossed: Israeli Authorities and the Crimes of Apartheid and Persecution.\u201d In over 200 pages of rigorous research, the authors establish why, under the 1973 Convention against Apartheid and 1998 Rome Statute, the race-based order through which Israel governs the Jewish and Palestinian population between the Mediterranean Sea and Jordan River amounts to the crimes of apartheid and persecution. The report follows an\u00a0identical conclusion\u00a0by the Israeli human rights group B\u2019tselem that Israel\u2019s regime of Jewish supremacy amounts to apartheid. That the findings of the report are meticulous in their analysis and overdue in their conclusions is an understatement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
