The Black Lives Matter movement has been nominated<\/a> for a Nobel Peace Prize.\u00a0MP Petter Eide of Norway’s Socialist Left party nominated the movement for its contributions to raising awareness about racial justice issues across the globe. While the movement has been active since 2013<\/a>, it regained momentum and\u00a0worldwide<\/a> recognition following the police killing of George Floyd in 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Black Lives Matter Twitter account acknowledged the nomination saying “We’re only getting started”:<\/p>\n
