Thanks to a whistleblower, PETA has filed a federal complaint over animal mistreatment at the University of Alabama-Birmingham's xenotransplantation lab. One animal, in particular, a baboon named Laja suffered lesions and was treated unconventionally with Woolite. She suffered and had to be euthanized. The university admitted to using Woolite but not to any wrongdoing.
