Aquatic foods\u00a0\u2013\u00a0a key source of protein, micronutrients and essential fatty acids\u00a0\u2013\u00a0are \u201csuperfoods\u201d,\u00a0which,\u00a0when added to a diverse diet\u00a0of\u00a0vegetables,\u00a0fruits and\u00a0pulses,\u00a0such as beans, peas and lentils,\u00a0contribute\u00a0to\u00a0cognition, health and nutrition.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an interview with\u00a0UN News, 2021 World Food Prize Laureate\u00a0Shakuntala\u00a0Haraksingh\u00a0Thilsted\u00a0explained\u00a0the important role\u00a0that\u00a0fish\u00a0and aquatic food systems\u00a0have\u00a0in sustainable healthy diets, and\u00a0how they should be included\u00a0in nutrition policies and programme\u00a0interventions to tackle malnutrition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
