Also on Tuesday, the State Department claimed that Russia could use military drills in Belarus\u00a0as cover to attack Ukraine from the north. Russia said Tuesday that it has begun deploying troops to Belarus for joint exercises that will be held in February.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reports of Russian troop movements towards Belarus, which these movements are supposedly under the auspices of regularly scheduled joint military exercises, are concerning,\u201d\u00a0a State Department official told reporters.<\/p>\n
