But the rush to nukes suffered a major setback this month when the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission\u00a0denied the application\u00a0\u00a0to build and operate the nation\u2019s first small modular nuclear 720 megawatt reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory. The Commission cited \u201csignificant information gaps\u201d in the company\u2019s application, including details on potential accidents and its classification of safety systems and components.
