Human rights organisation says allegations that Nicholas Opiyo acquired over $300,000 in funds are \u2018frivolous\u2019 and \u2018fabricated\u2019<\/p>
Nicholas Opiyo, one of Uganda\u2019s most prominent human rights lawyers, has been charged with money laundering.<\/p>
Opiyo, known for representing LGBTQ+ people, appeared before magistrates in Kampala on Thursday and was remanded in custody until 28 December.<\/p>
